Where is the squirrel?

A weekend designed so as the younger of the family (and also not too young) learn to act as a genuine  detective of nature. Through games you´ll discover the fauna from the Pyrenees (Catalonia, Spain).

  • Duration: 2 days, 1 night: Saturday and Sunday
  • Price person in double room: 250€
    Single room supplement: 30€

The meeting point will be in El Pont de Suert. Circular route to the “Terreta”, where we’ll enjoy the Oak Grove of Aulàs (The largest flat Oak Grove in Catalonia). At the “Font dels Capellans” there is a fantastic viewpoint of Torogó with views of Sant Gervàs. To finish the route, we´ll go to The House of the Vultures at Torre Tamúrcia, the unique place in the world where we can observe all the vulture species. In the afternoon, we will visit the Dinosaurs Museum, in Areny. Overnight in El Pont de Suert (H***), Lleida.

We will devote the day to the search of animal tracks in the area of the Escales reservoir, where we will make “tracking games”, with open-air strategy games we will learn to detect signs and clues as authentic detectives of nature. Then we will follow the Montiberri Wildlife Route, where we will find squirrels, wild boar, fox, marten, roe deer, genet, hare and wild cat. Not only will we have to look to the ground so that in the sky we can observe raptors (birds of pray) such as the griffon vulture and bearded vulture as well as red kite or golden eagle.
